2008 Fall Bronco/Single A Regular Season Rules (LT/DS/MC Interlock)

  1. SCORING

    1. Maximum five (5) run rule limit per inning.

    2. Cumulative scoring is in effect during regular season. (i.e. 2nd inning you can score up to 10 runs if you had less than 5 in the 1st)

  2. GAME START TIMES AND LENGTH

    1. Regular Season Games Start

      1. Weekdays: 7:00 PM

      2. Weekends: 9:00 AM (First Game); 11:00 AM (Second Game) * unless noted

      3. Begin all games on time due to lighting restraints as well as respect for umpires!

      4. LIGHTS OFF NO LATER THAN 9:30 PM WEEKDAYS AND NO LIGHTS ON WEEKENDS!

    2. Game Length

      1. A regulation game will be six (6) innings unless the score is tied at the end of regulation. If the game is tied at the end of regulation, one (1) additional inning will be played. If the score is still tied after the extra inning is complete the game will be considered a tie.

      2. No new inning shall begin beyond one (1) hour and forty five (45) minutes.

  3. PITCHING

    1. Pitchers are allowed to pitch two (2) innings in one (1) game.

    2. Pitchers are not allowed to pitch in more than six (6) innings in one (1) week.

      1. A “week” starts 12:01 AM. Sunday and ends 12:00 AM midnight the following Saturday.

    3. Pitchers must have forty (40) hours rest after pitching on the same calendar day in four (4) innings.

    4. The forty (40) hour rest rule begins from the start time of the game in which the pitching occurred.

    5. One pitch in an inning will be considered one inning pitched.

    6. Warnings for Balks will be given as follows:

      1. Each pitcher will be given two (2) warnings through mid-season (10/11/2008). 

      2. Beginning 10/14/2008 pitchers will be given one (1) warning until the end of the regular season.

    7. A pitcher will be given a warning if he hits two (2) batters in the same inning.  He will be asked to stop pitching if he hits a third batter within two innings.

  4. SAFETY

    1. No metal spikes.

    2. No head first slides, unless going back to a base.

    3. On deck batters are required to warm up in the on deck circle behind the batter at the plate (sees his back only).

    4. Keep all field access gates closed!

    5. Players must remain in the dugout unless they are on deck or warming up to pitch.

    6. No fake tags

    7. Players must slide at all bases when a play is on (except 1st). Player makes all efforts to avoid contact.

  5. FIELD DIMENSIONS

    1. Bases are seventy (70) feet.

    2. Pitching rubber is forty eight (48) feet from home plate,

    3. The distance from home plate to the center of 2nd base is ninety nine (99) feet.

  6. CONDUCT

    1. ONLY the MANAGER of the team is allowed to approach the umpire. No assistant coaches, parents or players.   Feel free to challenge a call but do it correctly and politely.

    2. Team managers are responsible for the behavior their team’s fans i.e. (fathers, mothers, guardians, grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, pets, neighbors, acquaintances, etc.) ANY instances of verbal abuse by the aforementioned parties directed to umpires and or opposing teams is not tolerated. Managers monitor and manage your team’s fans accordingly.

    3. NO ALCHOHOL IC BEVERAGES ARE PERMITTED ON PREMISIS!

    4. Coach’s not to sit on the Field (Provide good leadership and respect for the game)

  7. GOVERNING RULES

    1. Play is governed by Official Baseball rules.

    2. Exceptions to the official baseball rules are covered under PONY Baseball.

  8. GENERAL

    1. Home team is responsible for operating the concession stand.

    2. Both teams are responsible for field prep before and after play.

    3. Pick up your trash upon teams exiting the dugout.
