.The Code of Conduct is directed toward that end and shall apply to all levels of involvement in this organization, including the Executive Board and all associated personnel.
This code regarding the treatment of players and other children at LT Baseball/Softball activities is inflexible and will be strictly enforced. The physical abuse of any player by any Manager/Coach/Business Manager or person connected to the team is specifically forbidden. This includes but is not limited to hitting, slapping, (even helmets, hats, bats & gloves), kicking, jerking, or any other physical contact with the player desgned to discipline or humiliate.
Profanity, obscenities, smoking, chewing tobacco, drinking of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited around the players (games and practices.)
Any extreme or unusual practice or drill that could be harmful will not be allowed. The child's well-being comes first.
Any display of poor sportsmanship, such as aggressive or profane abuse directed at game officials or any other person from the sidelines is also forbidden.
Regarding sportsmanship: it is neither the intent of, nor the spirit of the organization to humiliate children or feed Parent's/Manager's/Coache's/Business Manager's egos. Therefore, any one who intentionally runs up an unnecessarily large overwhelming score, will be called before the Board and possible action taken.
Parents/Managers/Coaches/Business Managers will exercise great care in all cases of injury or possible injury. Determine the nature/extent of the injury before you take any action.
In case of injury requiring medical attention or examination, first try to reach the player's parent/guardian. If unsuccessful, try the emergency contact person, if unsuccessful, get the player to their family doctor or to the emergency room at the hospital and notify parent/guardian as soon as possible.
The Code of Conduct is not written with the intent to limit or restrict a Parent's/Manager's/Coach's/Business Manager's desire or ability to teach and lead the youth he/she is working with. It is directed to enable us all to present a public posture that is above reproach and outside criticism.
