Important information for prospective LT baseball coaches:
As an all-volunteer organization, we are not able to offer our programs without the support of our many dedicated volunteers. Demand for our programs has grown to the point where we may need to turn kids away because of field space limitations, but the potential size of our programs could also be limited by a shortage of coaches. Quite simply, if we do not have enough coach volunteers, we will not be able to form enough teams to include all the kids who want to play baseball. Please consider coaching!
LT Baseball is committed to providing our coach volunteers with as much support as possible to help them carry out their coaching duties with confidence, so we are introducing two new coach training programs (detailed below). Even if you don't have extensive baseball knowledge and have never coached before, please consider volunteering--all that's required is a desire to help our kids, and a commitment to supporting the goals of our program.
► Anyone wishing to head coach or assistant coach a team in the LT Baseball league will be required to submit to a criminal background check. Please visit the secure background check site at https://www.ncsisafe.com and enter our organization code: 45750395. Be sure to answer all questions completely and click "submit."
►All baseball head coaches, and the first named assistant of each team, should plan to complete the following online Ripken Certification program and attend 2 of the following two-hour sessions; these will be conducted on fields #2 and #3 at the Field of Dreams. Please note that both levels of training MUST be completed prior to the first practice.
►All coaches are asked to attend a pre-season meeting (date and time TBD) for the following:
- equipment bag distribution
- issuance of coach ID badge (to be worn on the field during games)
Note to Prospect Coaches: The Prospect Coaches' Handbook is available for download!
