Practices for this age group will take place at Lakeway Elementary from 6:30 to 7:30 according to the following schedule:

Team 1 (Kelley): Tuesday
Team 2 (DeLaFuente): Thursday
Team 3 (Thorpe): Wednesday
Team 4 (Swearingen): Wednesday
Team 5 (Langan): Tuesday
Team 6 (Arney): Thursday
Team 7 (Wheeler): Monday
Team 8 (Horne): Monday

Practices begin the week of 11/17.

General Information

Games played on Saturdays
One mid-week practice for an hour
Games are 5 on 5
8 foot goals on full court
Junior Size (27.0 or 27.5) basketball
No Scorekeeping
Fouls are counted and players are restricted to 5 fouls per game
Two referees per game
Games consist of four 8-minute quarters
Continuous running clock
All players on team play equal amount of time
Violations such as travelling and double dribbling are loosely enforced
No free throws
No 3-point goals
No backcourt defense
Man-to-man defense only (no zone defense or double teaming)
No End of Season Tournament

This division is all about fun. Score is not kept and there is no end-of-season tournament. Emphasis is on helping the kids learn the basic fundamentals and good sportsmanship. Coaches are on the court during games to referee and help encourage the players.

Please, please consider being a coach. Basketball coaching experience is not required! We just need willing parents with a basic knowledge of basketball who want to help our kids love the sport. We don't want to have to turn any kids away because we don't have enough coaches.
